Counseling

My General Counseling Philosophy

Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward? I’m Dr. Jeff Newell, a clinical psychologist, and I specialize in supporting adults through life’s challenges, including: Mood Disorders – depression, anxiety, and general feelings of sadness or stress. Life Transitions – college life, major adjustments, and navigating significant changes. Disability Support – empowering individuals who navigate life with a disability to build resilience and thrive. I generally believe that effective therapy involves more than aimless talk; it should empower, inspire, offer specific help, and be informed by science.

Treatment will focus on understanding your experiences and giving you tailored tools and strategies to use in your everyday life. My approach is uniquely flexible and collaborative, designed to meet your individual needs and goals. This individualized treatment ranges from structured psychoeducation with specific action plans to open-ended self-exploration.

Taking the step to seek counseling is an act of courage and shows you’re ready to address adversity in a proactive way. I’m passionate about helping you shine a light on your inner strengths and hope to create positive and meaningful change in your life. Together, we’ll work to transform your challenges into opportunities for growth and resilience.
